Artist Spotlight: Utada Hikaru, Queen of JPOP

In a new section of this miscellaneous blog, I intend to highlight various artists and/or bands that I highly recommend or who I love deeply, and what’s better to start this by getting my favorite female Jpop singer, Utada Hikaru; Why does that name sound familiar? Of course, she did the theme songs for Kh1 -3 and various remixes for the series, but she was a bigger and if renowned singer/pop star in Japan. From what I’ve gathered is that she was born in New York to a famous studio producer father and singer mother. She grew up in two different languages and thus with that, she’s used that advantage of being bilingual in her music from humble Cubic U (Her original name) album to her newest one: Hatsukoi (First Love).

Her voice is unlike any singer that I’ve ever heard, plus she puts all English speaking artists to shame for her unique musical choices and vocals. She is the epitome of style and grace and instantly recognized for being the singer of Simple Clean /Hikari for Kingdom Hearts, but like I’ve stated, she’s more than that, and deserves a listen and here’s a recommendation on her best albums from older to newest.

I mostly know her from the songs from Kingdom Hearts. I always adored “Simple and Clean.” I’ve downloaded a bunch of her stuff on iTunes.

This brings back memories… I love her music and still listen to a lot of her older stuff today.
